Umbro x Aitor Throup Returns After 14 Years

Summary

  • The pair first collaborated on England’s 2010 World Cup kits.
  • The collection is slated for a Spring 2026 release.

Hailing from Buenos Aires, designer Aitor Throup has made a powerful impact in Latin fashion, earning the title of an unrelenting force in this sphere. At 44 years old, this innovative mind gained notoriety by pushing boundaries within dystopian menswear, collaborating with brands such as Stone Island, Nike, and G-Star RAW. Lately, Throup has captured our interest through his recent venture, reuniting with Umbro after a 14-year hiatus to create a third joint collection.

In simpler terms, the first collection designed by the new designer for Umbro caused quite a stir when it was used for England’s soccer uniforms during the 2010 World Cup. This collection was part of Umbro’s earlier “Tailored by Umbro” series. Later in 2011, this designer collaborated with Umbro again to create unique, otherworldly designs from their traditional football gear, under the guidance of Throup.

The revitalized partnership between them will officially debut in the Spring of 2026. It’s set to coincide with the launch on the Italian retail platform, Slam Jam.

Check out the teaser up there, as we’ll be sharing further details about the upcoming collaboration between Umbro and Aitor Throup shortly.
