The upcoming Wolverine game from Insomniac is still on track to launch in 2026, but it won’t be available until at least April of that year, according to recent reports.
Development Priority
As reported by mp1st.com, Insomniac Games is still focusing on the Wolverine game. This is logical, considering a Venom game is reportedly in very early stages of development.
According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, development is reportedly going smoothly, and initial testing by people within the company has been positive.

What We Knew From the 2023 Leaks
The recent data breach at Insomniac Games revealed some unfinished content from an upcoming project, such as early gameplay footage, the game’s opening screen, and a list of characters. Here are some of the characters involved:
- Leech
- Davina
- Tyger Tiger
- Mystique
- Callisto
- Omega Red
- Sunfire
- Sabretooth
- Nathaniel Essex (Mr. Sinister)
- Sasquatch
- Lady Deathstrike
Liam McIntyre, the Australian actor who’s appeared in shows like Spartacus and The Flash, and lent his voice to video games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Gears of War 4, will be playing the role of Wolverine.

Current Status
Recent reports confirm what many expected: the Wolverine game isn’t likely to be released until 2026, probably in the latter half of the year. Sony hasn’t made an official announcement, but development is still progressing well.
After details about the Wolverine game were leaked online, some fans criticized how certain characters, like Jean Grey, were portrayed. It’s still unclear how much of what was shown in the leaks will actually appear in the finished game.
