As a gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the virtual streets of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, I can’t help but draw parallels between the digital world and this real-life feud. Just like CJ, DeMar is a man from Compton standing up against the heat from Toronto – or should I say, Drake.
After Drake disrespected DeMar DeRozan during a game between the Sacramento Kings and his former team, the Toronto Raptors on November 2, Wack 100 offered some words of wisdom to Drake.
In a heated moment during the game, Drake publicly criticized an NBA player to the Raptors commentators. He declared, “If you ever hang a DeRozan banner, I’ll personally go up there and take it down.” Additionally, he referred to DeRozan as a “fool” on-air. To add fuel to the fire, allegations were made that he used inappropriate language towards him when the game ended.

DeRozan responded in a press conference and didn’t seem bothered by Drake’s words. “He’s going to have a long way to climb… tell him good luck,” he said about the rapper taking down his banner.

In essence, this interaction revolves around who, specifically Kendrick Lamar, due to DeRozan’s recent involvement with him. This stems from DeRozan attending Kendrick’s concert for his track “Pop Out” this past summer and joining him on stage for a performance of the Drake diss song titled “Not Like Us.” DeRozan can also be found in the music video for that very same song.
As a fellow Cali native, just like DeRozan hails from Compton, it’s no wonder he found himself backing Kendrick Lamar in their friendship triangle with Drake. And that’s essentially what Wack 100 hinted at when discussing the rapper-basketball player beef situation.
As a gamer, I’d say: “Apparently, Wack pointed out that Drake isn’t a gangster type. It seems unwise for him to provoke someone hailing from a city notorious for its gang activity, known as the gangbanging epicenter of the world.

“He better chill out. I’m telling you that,” Wack warned Drake. “He better get back. Leave that one alone. He’s from Compton … What is you talking about? Blood ain’t no gangster, homey. You better relax. This is the land of gangbanging. Ain’t no other city do it like this city [when it comes to gangbanging] … You n—-s don’t even understand how sh*t work out here.”
