Volkswagen is broadening its collection of electric vehicles by unveiling the ID. EVERY1 concept, an economical electric vehicle tailored for European buyers. Slated for a production debut in 2027 at around €20,000 EUR ($21,600 USD), the ID. EVERY1 aims to democratize electric transportation by making it more affordable for a larger segment of society.
The ID. EVERY1 belongs to Volkswagen’s wider “Electric City Car Series,” which encompasses the ID. 2all, a slightly larger vehicle scheduled for release in 2026 at a price under €25,000 EUR. Both vehicles utilize Volkswagen’s electric drive (MEB) platform and front-wheel drive, enhancing efficiency and interior room. The concept car measures approximately 3,880 mm long, positioning it between the now-discontinued up! city car and the current Polo. It accommodates four passengers and offers a luggage capacity of 305 liters.
This version aims to provide a clearer understanding of the relationship between the ID. EVERY1 and the ID. 2all, as well as their shared features and dimensions in comparison to other Volkswagen models.
The ID. EVERY1 sports a freshly crafted electric motor producing 70 kW (equivalent to 93 horsepower), enabling it to hit a maximum speed of 80 mph and boast an estimated range of at least 155 miles. Volkswagen is also introducing an advanced software infrastructure that allows for over-the-air updates, keeping the vehicle technologically current throughout its lifespan.
Thomas Schäfer, Volkswagen’s CEO, refers to the ID. EVERY1 as the crucial final piece needed for a comprehensive range of models, ensuring every customer can find an electric vehicle that caters to their specific requirements. By 2030, he intends to solidify Volkswagen’s position as the global leader in volume production when it comes to technology.
