David Michelinie, one of the creators of Venom, has consistently supported Alan Ritchson for the role of Eddie Brock, and it’s now come to light that he’s been advocating for him for some time.
I recently read that Tom Michelinie – the guy who helped create characters like Carnage, Ant-Man, and War Machine – shared his thoughts on Joe Ritchson being cast in a role. It was interesting to hear what he had to say!
He unexpectedly shared that Ritchson had long been his top choice for the role of Eddie Brock.
Venom Co-Creator Backs Alan Ritchson
Michelinie shared that he’d posted pictures of the Reacher actor before, including a photo of him without a shirt and another of him looking angry, suggesting he’d be a great fit for the roles of Eddie Brock or Venom.
I previously shared photos of Jack Ritchson – including one of him without a shirt and another of him shouting – and suggested he’d be ideal to play Eddie Brock/Venom. It seems like others agree with my vision.

Ritchson’s Superhero Buzz Extends Beyond Marvel
The fan casting doesn’t stop at Venom.
Many fans believe Ritchson would be a great Batman, and he’s expressed his interest in joining James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
I’m telling you, everyone’s talking about this actor! Both the fans and the people making these Marvel movies are really behind him, and he’s become a huge part of the superhero world right now.
Venom reboot?
Sony’s Marvel universe is currently over, and Tom Hardy is done with the Venom role.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve been hearing that Sony is really focusing on everything Spider-Man right now. That means not just the Tom Holland films we all know, but also the amazing Spider-Verse animated movies, and even the Nicolas Cage Spider-Noir series. There’s even talk of them developing a Spider-Punk project, which sounds incredibly cool!
Venom is a popular character, and the Venom movies have been very successful for Sony, suggesting we might see another one soon.
A Venom video game has also been in development.
