Iron Gate and Coffee Stain Publishing have revealed that *Valheim* will be coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026. The popular Viking survival and crafting game is currently playable on PC and Xbox Series X|S in early access.
Released in 2021 and boasting over 12 million players, the game is still considered to be in development, even after numerous large updates. The most recent update, called ‘Call to Arms,’ revamped the combat and introduced new enemies, weapons, armor, and items to craft with.
Despite Valheim’s huge popularity, Iron Gate has chosen to keep its team small and continue developing the game at a steady, rather than rushed, pace. While this approach allows them to maintain their vision, some players have been frustrated by the time it takes to receive new content updates.
We don’t yet know if Valheim will release on PlayStation with the full Version 1.0 update, or if PlayStation players will get access through the Early Access program like on PC.
