The White House’s official X (formerly Twitter) account is referencing pop culture once more. They recently shared a clip from the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation showing Chevy Chase’s character, Clark Griswold, struggling to get his elaborate Christmas lights working.
But instead of lighting up the neighborhood, the video swaps in a glowing “MAGA” sign.

Released in 1989, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a funny holiday movie starring Chevy Chase. He plays Clark Griswold, a dad who really wants to create a perfect Christmas for his family, but things keep going hilariously wrong.
The movie is famous for its wild, funny moments and a particularly extravagant light show. It’s also become a tradition for many people to watch it every year during the holidays.
White House continues using movie clips
This isn’t the first time the White House has used movie footage in official social media posts.
Earlier this year, the White House X account shared a video using imagery from Batman.
The Department of Homeland Security has taken a similar approach.
Many Christmas celebrations feature clips from well-known films and TV shows, and surprisingly, that includes Die Hard with Bruce Willis. It really is a Christmas movie!

Additional posts include President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
The president will also be calling troops to celebrate the festivities.
