The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced that the 2018 song has reached 16 million sales in the U.S., earning it a 16x platinum certification. This makes “SICKO MODE” and Drake’s “God’s Plan” tied for the second most certified rap songs of all time.
This announcement comes soon after the RIAA recognized Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar’s 2016 song “goosebumps” as 17x platinum, making it the most certified rap song to date.
“SICKO MODE” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it was released and became the first rap song to stay in the top 10 for at least 30 weeks. It was also nominated for two GRAMMY Awards: Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
