The narrative centers around Sage and Diego, a loving pair embarking on a romantic excursion to secluded Bone Lake. However, their peaceful escape becomes ominous as they are compelled to cohabit with an enigmatic duo, Will and Cin, within a mansion. Here’s the twist: The initially peaceful retreat spirals into a tangled web of secrets, seduction, and manipulation, gradually unearthing hidden truths about their past, as the summary reveals.
In this production, Maddie Hasson takes on the role of Sage, Marco Pigossi portrays Diego, Alex Roe plays the character Will, while Andra Nechita steps into the part of Cin. Additionally, Eliane Reis acts as Angie and Clayton Spencer appears as Brett in this cast.
The movie was created by Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Jacob Yakob, working under the banner of LD Entertainment, in collaboration with Joshua Friedlander and Jason Blumenfeld. The main filming took place over a span of only 18 days. Nick Matthews, who had previously worked on Saw X, was responsible for directing the cinematography.
Matthews cited movies such as “A Clockwork Orange,” “Evil Dead II,” and “Funny Games” as sources of inspiration for the cinematography in the film. The haunting score was created by Roque Baños and Ben Cherney, further enhancing the film’s unsettling ambiance.
In 2024, I was fortunate enough to debut my movie, Bone Lake, at Fantastic Fest. A year later, on August 24, 2025, I had the pleasure of premiering in the U.K. at FrightFest. Exciting news followed as Bleecker Street obtained the rights for U.S. distribution, and Signature Entertainment snagged both U.K. and Irish rights – a fact that was reported by various sources.
Early feedback for the movie has been overwhelmingly positive, with a staggering 95% approval rating from 20 critics on Rotten Tomatoes. To top it off, the film took home the Bronze Audience Award at the 2024 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.
Now available online, the new trailer for “Bone Lake” offers a sneak peek of the suspenseful, twisty, and heart-pounding horror that the movie promises to deliver. The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas throughout the United States on October 3, 2025.
