This Minimalist BE@RBRICK Crafted From Solid Japanese Hiba Wood Took Years to Develop

To mark its 10-year milestone, Japanese lifestyle store Cul De Sac collaborates with Medicom’s BE@RBRICK and skilled artisans from Karimoku Furniture to create a unique version of Medicom’s popular toy figure.

Crafted meticulously within Karimoku’s Japanese workshops, these bears are handcrafted from solid Hiba Cypress wood harvested from logs, preserving the distinctive aroma that Aomori Prefecture is renowned for. Due to the intricate process of using solid logs, the creation of this product required approximately three years of development. The untouched surface, showcasing a unique wood grain influenced by the chilly Northern climate, is sealed with fragrant Hiba oil and comes with an accompanying small container for reapplication.

The plain, untreated wood of the BE@RBRICK emphasizes the detailed design work and tactile enjoyment more so than flashy designs or brand logos. Straddling the border between home decor and toys, this collectible item adds a stylish touch to the Medicom Toy collection.
