There’s One DC Hero Alan Ritchson Refuses to Play

One enjoyable part about the creation of a new cinematic universe is speculating which actors will portray beloved heroes or villains. While the DC Universe already boasts numerous characters, albeit with only a few productions thus far, fans won’t be fully content until they see the entire Justice League (and more). We previously shared that Alan Ritchson, a popular choice among many for playing Batman, wouldn’t actually take on that role. However, he has expressed interest in playing other DC characters. Yet, it seems the star of Reacher is not considering another Justice League member, as he has ruled out portraying Aquaman.

First off, let’s all stay calm here. Contrary to what some people might think, Dave Bautista (Ritchson) isn’t against Aquaman as a character. He’s simply not interested in taking the role of Arthur Curry due to respect for Jason Momoa, as he doesn’t want to compete or potentially step on his toes.

In an interview with Liamlovesmovies (as reported by ComicBook.com), Ritchson stated that he wouldn’t tolerate any disrespect towards Jason Momoa because he holds him in high regard. It’s worth noting that Momoa expressed a strong desire to play Lobo, which led to him giving up the Aquaman role, but it seems Ritchson may not be aware of this detail.

Fortunately for Ritchson and us, the DC universe apparently offers around 19 billion more imposing burger fortresses for him to portray. To put it mildly, he’s quite a giant in stature. Extremely so.
