In an interview with Variety, the actor discussed the topic of nepotism and being labeled as a “nepo baby”. Nivola expressed, “Beyond my genetic makeup, I don’t believe my parents played a significant role in my success. I take pride in having achieved it myself, often despite their efforts.
He stated, “For my initial role, I didn’t have my father’s agent make the call; I did it on my own. I preferred not to provide anyone an opportunity to claim that any of my achievements were due to someone else. I take pride in doing things independently.
Regarding his renowned guardians, the actor admitted that they were taken aback when he decided to leave college for acting. He put it this way, “They were distressed, and honestly, I can understand why. At the moment, I wasn’t content because I couldn’t fully commit to acting. Additionally, I struggle with figures of authority.
Simultaneously, while Nivola had a childhood under public scrutiny, he found himself unprepared for the limelight that followed his exceptional performance in The White Lotus.
