Get ready for a hilarious underwater adventure with Search for Squarepants, brought to you by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies! Spongebob wants to show Mr. Krabs he’s brave, so he goes on a quest to find the legendary ghost pirate, The Flying Dutchman – and Mark Hamill provides the voice! He follows the spooky pirate all the way to the Underworld. Back at home, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Gary face a challenge that might be even scarier: high school!
The trailer also features a surprise appearance by rapper Ice Spice, known for her curly hair. Seeing her transformed into a talking fish was unexpected, but perfectly fits the silly spirit of a Spongebob movie. The trailer’s soundtrack includes Ice Spice’s new song, “Big Guy,” which seamlessly blends into a dramatic version of Ozzy Osbourne’s classic, “Crazy Train.”
The movie welcomes back familiar voices like Tom Kenny as Spongebob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, and Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks. Joining them are new cast members including George Lopez, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola, and Regina Hall.

Derek Drymon will direct the next SpongeBob movie, a hilarious adventure that will be the fourth film in the series. The last movie, Sponge on the Run, came out in 2021. The SpongeBob Movie: Search For Squarepants is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 19, 2025.
