Summary
- The Last of Us Season 3 may shift perspective to a different character
- A release date for the new season is yet to be announced
It’s expected that the third season of “The Last of Us” will adhere closely to its original content, potentially presenting the narrative from a fresh viewpoint – a different character’s perspective. Beware of spoilers if you haven’t watched the upcoming season or played the video games.
Recently, in an interview with Variety, the incredible Catherine O’Hara (Gail from season 2) hinted subtly that season 3 might delve deeper into the character of Abby. While specifics remain a mystery, enthusiasts who have experienced The Last of Us Part II can’t help but wonder if this means our perspective will shift to follow Abby’s story more closely. After all, part of Part II offers glimpses into Abby’s life, revealing her side of the tale after she takes Joel’s life at the beginning of the game.
In an interview with TopMob, actress Kaitlyn Dever discussed her role as Abby, a controversial character in the game. Abby, a soldier from Washington Liberation Front (WLF), pursues Joel with the intention of avenging her father Jerry’s death at Joel’s hands – Jerry was the doctor who was meant to perform surgery on Ellie in the initial game. “I find it intriguing,” Dever remarked. “It’s simple for people to label Abby as a villain, given her actions. However, she is a complex individual. Yet, you could argue that many characters share similar flaws and none of them are fundamentally distinct from each other.
Stay tuned for more details on The Last of Us season three.
