The C.P. Company x Sashiko Gals Collaboration Preserves Traditional Techniques

For the very first time, C.P. Company and Sashiko Gals have collaborated to launch a highly exclusive 15-piece collection. Based in Ootsuchi, Sashiko Gals endeavors to protect the age-old Japanese art of mending, known as “sashiko,” typically employed for repairing garments.

2024 marked the start of our initiative, aimed at collecting donations for ongoing relief efforts and reconstruction following the Great East Japan Earthquake. At present, we have a team of 15 skilled craftsmen specializing in traditional techniques, creating custom artworks.

In this collaboration, skilled craftsmen have each customized C.P. Company jackets using the traditional sashiko method. These jackets are initially constructed from the brand’s unique Chrome-R fabric, complete with a full zip fastener, and an extra three pockets sewn by hand using recycled materials such as “FLATT NYLON,” “CO-TED,” and “TAYLON P.” A total of 15 jackets are now offered in the colors olive, black, and cobalt blue.
