As a Long Beach-based rapper under Top Dawg Entertainment, I’ve been part of the family since 2020. Collaborating with legends like Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul on their projects was an incredible experience. But now, it’s time for me to step into the spotlight as a solo artist, and I’m doing just that with my debut mixtape, “The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu.” This project is a reflection of who I am, captivating, chilling, and commendable.
Rashad and Vaughn revisit their discussions on “EAST CHAT”, where Jay Rock delivers a standout performance in “KLOWN dance”. However, the 11-track collection demonstrates that Vaughn is capable of steering the project effectively, even without external contributions.
He establishes the theme in “FLOCKER’s remorse,” contemplating the true nature of the journey to fame, ending with the line: “I don’t want to end up on a T-shirt.” The second track, titled “XXXL Tee,” carries this same feeling, followed by singles such as “DOLLAR menu” and “FLAT shasta.” The latter song includes Ash Leone, while other collaborations come from Sydney Leona, genre-blending artist Samara Cyn, and fellow Bay Area rapper LaRussell.
The standout track on this project, featuring LaRussell, is titled “LOOK @ GOD”. It’s marked as the main focus, with clever lyrics and an energetic ending that echoes through the chorus: “Things could always be worse if I woke up here instead.
