Sydney Sweeney recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at her upcoming thriller, The Housemaid. The movie features Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar alongside Sweeney, who plays Millie Calloway, a live-in maid working for the affluent couple, Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Sklenar).

Sydney Sweeney shared a 20-photo post on Instagram with her 25.7 million followers. The first photo was a striking image related to her new thriller – Sweeney playfully biting into a pickle covered in fake blood. The remaining photos offered a more personal look, showcasing fun moments with her fellow actors and the book’s author, Freida McFadden.

I was so touched seeing Sydney Sweeney share a sweet hug with Amanda Seyfried and the adorable Indiana Elle! And then, to see a note from director Emerald Fennell herself saying Sydney was a ‘perfect Millie’ – seriously, chills! Even the movie’s official Instagram got in on the fun, commenting ‘happy housemaid day ❤️’ – it just felt like everyone was celebrating the film and Sydney’s amazing performance. It was a really lovely glimpse behind the scenes.

Good news for fans! Lionsgate has confirmed a sequel is in the works, announced back in January. Sydney Sweeney, Lorenzo Morrone, and director Paul Feig are all set to return for the film, which will be based on the second book in the series, The Housemaid’s Secret.

The positive response to Sweeney’s performance as Millie, combined with plans for a follow-up, suggests she’s made a significant impact on both viewers and the original author.
