To honor the raw, genuine roots of East Coast skateboarding and urban culture, Supreme is unveiling a significant collaboration with Zoo York for the Spring season of 2025. This alliance acknowledges Zoo York’s groundbreaking status as New York City’s first major skateboard company, which, since its inception in 1993, has boldly showcased the city’s unique style to a worldwide audience.

Hailing from the urban sprawl, Zoo York made its debut when Southern California ruled the skateboarding scene. Unlike West Coast skate brands that found inspiration in punk rock, Eastern skaters were deeply connected to New York City’s local subcultures such as graffiti and hip-hop. Zoo York skillfully represented this crossroads, solidifying its impact with the groundbreaking 1997 skate video, The Zoo York Mixtape.

Titled “The Zoo York Mixtape” and initially screened at the New York Underground Film Festival, this skate video transcended its genre. It served not only as an entertaining film, but also as a cultural artifact, skillfully weaving together gritty skateboarding footage from luminaries like Harold Hunter, Jefferson Pang, Robbie Gangemi, and Peter Bici, with thrilling freestyles of hip-hop heavyweights such as Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Busta Rhymes, and Fat Joe, who gained prominence through the influential Stretch and Bobbito radio show. The video offered a vivid portrayal of how New York City skateboarders adapted to the city’s challenging weather and rugged terrain, cultivating a distinctive toughness and polished aesthetic that significantly influenced global skateboarding. Today, “The Zoo York Mixtape” stands as a tribute to a golden age in New York City skateboarding and hip-hop culture.

For the Spring 2025 season, the Supreme x Zoo York collection draws inspiration straight from their storied past, offering an expansive assortment of clothing and accessories that seamlessly merge the unique styles of both brands. The lineup boasts a Soccer Jersey, Hooded Sweatshirt, Baggy Jeans, Soccer Shorts, as well as two distinct T-Shirts. To complete the collection, there’s a Camp Cap, Beanie, a co-branded Skateboard, and Spitfire® Classic Wheels. This way, fans can fully immerse themselves in the partnership from top to bottom, and even underfoot.

Keep an eye out! The highly anticipated collaboration between Supreme and Zoo York will be released through their online store and physical stores on June 19, and it’ll also be available in Asian locations starting from June 21.
