Movie blooper reels are always fun, but the ones from James Gunn’s films are on another level. His *Guardians of the Galaxy* bloopers showed he has a knack for bringing out everyone’s silly side – including his own! Now, the newly released blooper reel from *Superman* proves he’s brought that same playful energy to his new film. We figured people like Nathan Fillion and Gunn himself would be naturally goofy, but it was a pleasant surprise to see David Corenswet was just as playful on set. You can watch the full *Superman* blooper reel here:
The highlight of this blooper reel is definitely seeing James Gunn play Lex Luthor’s annoying, meme-creating social media followers. Considering Gunn has been the target of online harassment from overzealous fans, it was likely very satisfying for him. We also loved watching the cast playfully stumble around Mister Terrific’s ship, reminiscent of classic Star Trek scenes. And Nathan Fillion perfectly captured the look of Guy Gardner as drawn by Kevin Maguire in Justice League International, with his expressive facial expressions.
Seeing Alan Tudyk perform in his motion capture suit was a highlight – his dry wit as the robot “4,” or Gary, kept cracking up David Corenswet. There was also plenty of dancing! James Gunn’s *Superman* has been a great start for the new DC Studios, and the last episodes of *Peacemaker* season two connect to the film, even hinting at elements of *Man of Tomorrow*. You can now watch *Superman* on HBO Max, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD Blu-ray.
