Soulja Boy goes off on Plies for suing him

As a longtime fan of hip-hop, I’ve seen my fair share of beefs and lawsuits in the industry, but this one between Plies and Soulja Boy has got me hooked! It’s like watching a heavyweight boxing match with words instead of fists.

According to Plies, Soulja Boy allegedly took the beat from his track “Me & My Goons” to create his own song titled “Pretty Boy Swag.” As a result, Plies decided to take legal action against him.

Soulja Boy swiftly responds when faced with accusations, and this instance is no exception. He recently fired back at Plies on social media with a lengthy response. Furthermore, he questioned why Plies took so long to sue him, considering that “Pretty Boy Swag” was released in 2010 and “Me & My Goons” dropped in 2008.

Soulja said in the video, “Your style isn’t like ‘Pretty Boy Swag.’ If you think you can wait 10 years to sue someone over a beat, that’s not right. You’re acting crazy, Plies. Maybe you should change your name to ‘Lies,’ because you’re a liar… You know that isn’t even your beat, man.

Soulja further explained that the “Pretty Boy Swag” rhythm isn’t a replica of “Me & My Goons,” and it bears no similarity. He also hurled a few more jabs at Plies, casting doubt on his gangster persona, and went as far as to compare him to a police officer.

Soulja Boy expressed his thoughts about Plies’ lawsuit by stating, “That’s some shady business,” implying it was underhanded or deceitful. He questioned Plies’ toughness and credibility, asking, “You trying to sue a person? I thought you were tough. I thought you were fearless.” Similarly, Plies has also filed lawsuits against Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Cardi B regarding their song “Wanna Be,” claiming they too used the “Me & My Goons” beat without permission.

Plies hasn’t responded to Soulja yet. If he does, Soulja will undoubtedly answer him quickly. You can see him react to the lawsuit below.
