Recently, Snoop Dogg has joined the conversation about the ongoing issue, following statements from artists such as Cam’ron, Boosie Badazz, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman who expressed their desire for Lil Wayne to secure the position. Many have also pointed fingers at Jay-Z, as he holds the ultimate decision-making power regarding the performers.
Snoop expressed on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco’s Nightcap show that he doesn’t have a clear opinion but wants to remind everyone where the NFL was 15 years ago regarding hip-hop. He questioned how many hip-hop artists were allowed on that stage 15 years ago, suggesting that there has been progress in terms of acceptance. He stated, “I didn’t express an opinion or provide a response because I joined him on stage through Dr. Dre. I didn’t perform any Snoop Dogg tracks. Instead, I assisted Dr. Dre, and the experience turned out to be a memorable moment for everyone involved.
