Jack Shep remarkably resembles Princess Diana, with expressive, captivating eyes. Joining him are portrayals of historical and cultural figures like Winston Churchill, Isaac Newton, Mary Seacole, Benjamin Zephaniah, Freddie Mercury, Elizabeth I, and Cilla Black. Tina Fey adds to the fun by embodying Agatha Christie, complete with a spyglass.
Okay, so this Saturday Night Live sketch had a really weird premise. Instead of actually showcasing anything impressive about Britain, the whole thing devolved into a squabble over the food – which, I guess, makes sense since it was a dinner party. It got so ridiculous that even Sir David Attenborough’s character just threw in the towel and decided to fast-forward to… well, let’s just say a more intimate part of the evening. He even jokes about not having much time left, so why not enjoy it! It was definitely a strange turn, and honestly, a bit of a missed opportunity.
The joke references David Attenborough, who is approaching his 100th birthday. Whether Saturday Night Live UK can match the success of the original American SNL is yet to be determined, but early reactions from viewers have been very positive.
