Summary
- Skepta and Fred again.. reunited for a new single, “Back 2 Back”
- The song is their second collaboration, blending Skepta’s grime flow with Fred again..’s electronic production
- They first collaborated on the single, “Victory Lap”
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to announce that the legendary Grime artist Skepta and electronic music pioneer Fred again.. have teamed up once more for a fresh track titled “Back 2 Back”. This marks their second official collaboration, and it dropped on August 22. Building upon their debut single, “Victory Lap”, this new release showcases the unique, genre-blending sound that these two trailblazers are known for.
Their creative alliance kicked off in June, as they unveiled their inaugural collaboration, “Victory Lap,” during a New York live stream. Featuring producer Plaqueboymax, the song was an immediate success, combining Fred again..’s unique production style with Skepta’s distinctive rhythm. This month, they further strengthened their alliance by sharing the stage at Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival.
The new song titled ‘Back 2 Back’ features Skepta’s powerful, lively rapping style over the bass-heavy production of Fred again.. This track showcases both artists’ mutual love for grime and electronic music, with old-school influences from Skepta complemented by Fred’s contemporary sound. Together, they have demonstrated their combined creative prowess, successfully merging their distinct styles into a unique blend that feels both fresh and nostalgic.
