- Singer reveals Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined, limited to 100 builds
- Features a 420 hp 4.0L flat-six engine with tech from Cosworth
- Fully customizable with carbon body, manual gearbox, and bespoke interiors
Singer has unveiled its latest custom restoration endeavor: the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, redesigned by Singer. This project is influenced by the broad-bodied G-series 911s from the 1980s and combines advanced racing engineering with timeless aesthetics. A total of 100 of these exclusive restorations will be commissioned.
Fundamentally, it features a fresh 4L naturally aspirated flat-six engine, collaboratively developed with Cosworth. This engine yields 420 hp, spinning beyond 8,000 rpm, and is uniquely designed to integrate water-cooled cylinder heads and air-cooled cylinders – a first in a Singer engine. The power travels to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, with five customizable driving modes for control. A titanium exhaust system and carbon ceramic brakes offer an exhilarating sound and potent braking performance.
The car is constructed on an enhanced Type 964 chassis, with assistance from Red Bull Advanced Technologies. This includes electronically adjustable suspension, an optional active aero system, and center-lock wheels, which all contribute to the performance package. The carbon fiber bodywork showcases Porsche’s Super Sport Equipment heritage, featuring either fixed or speed-activated rear wings, design elements reminiscent of the past, and weight-reducing details. Two specific builds were unveiled: a Celeste Passalacqua version geared towards touring, and a high-performance Giallo Segnale variant ideal for track use.
Within, owners have the freedom to customize every aspect – ranging from polished leather accents and vintage-style fabrics to technology such as CarPlay and hidden navigation. Singer’s restorations undergo rigorous testing at Nardo and Nürburgring, with additional tracks beyond these. As Rob Dickinson points out, this initiative embodies the spirit of an iconic period: “Hans Mezger’s masterpiece – refurbished, reinterpreted, and reborn – lies at the core of the car.
