The popular Showtime thriller, *Yellowjackets*, is coming to an end with its fourth season. This will be the final season of the show, which has been praised by critics and viewers on both Showtime and Paramount+.
Filming for the final episodes is scheduled to begin in 2026. Like previous seasons, the new episodes will be available to stream on Paramount+ for those with a premium subscription.
Showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson announced the decision in an online statement, explaining it wasn’t made lightly and followed a lot of consideration.
After three amazing seasons, the creators of Yellowjackets have decided to end the show with a fourth and final season, bringing its intense and shocking story to a close.
We always expected the story would eventually reach a natural conclusion, and we feel it’s our duty to recognize when that time comes and allow it to end.
They added that creating the series has been a deeply meaningful experience.
Sharing this emotional, unpredictable, and very personal story has been incredibly rewarding and a privilege for us. We especially want to thank our fans – the Hive – for being with us through everything, every high and low. We wouldn’t be here without your support!

The next season will likely be released one episode per week on Showtime and will also be available to stream. There are ongoing talks about keeping the writers, Lyle and Nickerson, involved with Paramount+ even after the show ends.
Okay, so I’ve been totally hooked on *Yellowjackets* since it came out, and honestly, it’s been getting *so* much buzz for good reason. It’s a really clever show – it blends psychological thrills with a gripping mystery and a seriously intense survival story. It just really works, and a lot of people – critics and viewers alike – are loving it.
The show has received numerous Emmy nominations, including a nomination for Best Drama Series, and acting recognition for Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci. It’s also been praised by groups like the Writers Guild of America, the Television Critics Association, and the Critics Choice Awards.
The show quickly became one of Showtime’s most popular streaming titles, and its third season attracted more viewers than ever before.
Production of Season 3 was slowed down by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, but it finally launched in February 2025. The show was then renewed for one last season in May, with plans for the story to conclude in 2026.
