The actress remembered instances that brought up sensitive feelings about her weight, leaving her puzzled as to why others felt compelled to remark on it. She questioned, “I was hurt by someone calling me fat. Why does this emotion resurface?” However, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) served as a means of uncovering underlying causes, which ultimately helped Gomez connect the dots. “Ah, now I see; this is stemming from that one time when I was dealing with health issues and I gained weight.
