Samara Weaving Turns Up the Edge in Bridal Look for ‘Ready or Not 2’ — Lace, Attitude, and a Hint of Danger in Every Frame

People are starting to talk about the upcoming horror movie, Ready or Not 2, after Samara Weaving posted some new photos from the set on her Instagram account.

The photo shows Weaving wearing a wedding dress in what looks like a dimly lit, unfinished basement or construction site. A bright yellow light focuses on her, creating a stark and unsettling atmosphere.

She’s wearing a classic white wedding dress with a snug bodice and intricate detailing on the chest. The skirt is full and flowing, creating a dramatic shape. Long gloves complete the look, and she’s wearing her hair down in loose waves with sunglasses perched on her head. The overall style is bridal, but contrasted by a somewhat stark and unsettling environment.

This image echoes a scene from the original movie, where the bride’s wedding dress gets increasingly damaged as the plot unfolds.

Okay, so “Ready or Not 2” picks up right where the first movie left off, with Grace having somehow survived that absolutely insane night with the Le Domas family. But this time around, it’s not just about them anymore. The filmmakers are promising to broaden the scope, hinting at a much larger, interconnected world of these twisted games and the people involved. It sounds like they’re really building out the mythology, which I’m excited to see – hopefully it doesn’t lose the original’s darkly comedic edge in the process.

The movie introduces several new characters, including Grace’s sister, played by Kathryn Newton, which deepens the emotional stakes. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, and David Cronenberg are also joining the cast. Returning to direct are Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

I’ve been following Hugo Weaving’s career closely, and it’s great to see him consistently working outside of the blockbuster franchise he’s known for. He’s really embraced horror and thriller roles, and seems to be deliberately building a solid career in genre films. Plus, with several other projects on the horizon, it’s clear he’s maintaining a strong and steady presence in Hollywood, which is fantastic to see.

The highly anticipated sequel opens in theaters today. Filming wrapped up quickly in Toronto in 2025 to ensure its release, and the marketing campaign is currently highlighting the return of Weaving as Grace and the scary, suspenseful atmosphere that fans loved in the original movie.
