The trailer for Sam Raimi’s upcoming horror film, *Send Help*, is out now, offering a sneak peek at what promises to be a scary and darkly funny story about survival.
Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien play colleagues who are the sole survivors of a plane crash on a remote island. As they struggle to survive, their initial reliance on each other devolves into a tense and risky psychological game.
Directed by Sam Raimi, who is famous for films like *Evil Dead* and *Drag Me to Hell*, *Send Help* was written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon. The movie also stars Dennis Haysbert, Chris Pang, Edyll Ismail, Xavier Samuel, Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi.

Okay, so 20th Century Studios is pitching me this survival comedy, and it sounds… interesting. The premise is that Linda Liddle, played by Rachel McAdams, and Dylan O’Brien’s character, Bradley Preston, are the only two people who survive a plane crash. They’re stuck on a deserted island, and naturally, they don’t exactly *like* each other. Apparently, it’s not just about them trying to survive the elements, but also dealing with their issues and engaging in this really twisted, funny, and competitive game of one-upmanship as they try to get rescued. It sounds like a battle of wills as much as a fight for survival, which I’m intrigued by.
I’ve been following this one for a while now! It all started back in 2019 when Columbia Pictures first announced Sam Raimi would be directing a new horror movie, with a script penned by Swift and Shannon. Things shifted around a bit, and the project eventually landed at 20th Century Studios where it finally got its title: *Send Help*. It’s been a long road, but it’s exciting to finally see it coming together.
Rachel McAdams signed on to the project in 2024, followed by Dylan O’Brien and Dennis Haysbert at the beginning of 2025. They started filming in February, shooting scenes in Sydney, Los Angeles, and Thailand, and finished production in April.
Send Help is set to be released in theaters across the United States on January 30, 2026.
