Saint Laurent And Bang & Olufsen Just Dropped a Really Expensive Turntable

Once again, Saint Laurent Rive Droite and Bang & Olufsen have teamed up for a new project – this time featuring the classic Beogram 4000c turntable.

In their fifth joint effort, Saint Laurent Rive Droite and Bang & Olufsen reunite, showcasing none other than the legendary Beogram 4000c turntable.

Introduced in the ’70s, the turntable soon became a iconic sound equipment with a distinctive aesthetic appeal during its time. In collaboration for this latest launch, Saint Laurent and Bang & Olufsen have refurbished ten vintage Beogram 4000c turntables to suit contemporary use. Each item comes enclosed in a sturdy ziricote wood casing adorned with aluminum accents and numbered individually. The handcrafted restoration process, though, doesn’t come at a low price; the modernized turntable will set you back €30,000 EUR (around $31,000 USD).

The collaboration between Saint Laurent and Bang & Olufsen started in 2017, a year following Anthony Vaccarello’s appointment as the brand’s creative director. Some of the earlier collaborative projects include the Beoplay 8 earbuds, the Beoplay speaker, and the exceptionally rare Beosound A9.

Beyond their partnership with Bang & Olufsen, Yves Saint Laurent has also joined forces with Fender, launched a Parisian outlet for the LA-based Sushi Park restaurant, and organized several art exhibitions in the recently refurbished Rive Droite spaces. Such collaborations reflect Vaccarello’s initiatives to rebrand Saint Laurent as an extensively curated, immersive lifestyle experience company.

I’m thrilled to share that the Beogram 4000c turntable, which has been creating a buzz, won’t hit the shelves just yet. However, it’s only a matter of weeks before this beauty graces the floors of Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in both Paris and Los Angeles. If you can’t make it to these cities, don’t worry! You’ll also be able to secure one online at YSL. I can hardly wait!
