S.S.Daley’s House Is Looking a Lot Like ‘Harry’s House’

As a gamer, I can tell you that it’s no surprise to see most of what comes down S.S.Daley’s runways (the flamboyant forms, artsy small tops, cartoonish knitwear, and cute short shorts) on Harry Styles. That’s because this superstar singer is an investor in the budding London label, Steven Stokey-Daley’s, for a year now. The specifics of the deal have been kept secret since Stokey-Daley announced Styles’ minority stake right after his Pitti Uomo debut last January. However, Styles’ financial backing has undeniably boosted the visibility of this rapidly rising designer, who graduated from the University of Westminster just four years ago, to a level higher than a “watermelon sugar high.

Last season, Styles, who gained attention by attending Stokey-Daley’s show with Anna Wintour, was absent from the front row at the designer’s Fall/Winter 2025 show in London on Friday (it wasn’t entirely unexpected since he’s been keeping a low profile since his Love on Tour concluded in July 2023). However, Styles’ influence on the brand’s fashion direction was still evident.

The new collection by Stokey-Daley was inspired by the Scottish Colourists, an artistic group known for their colorful representations of atmospheric landscapes. This inspiration resulted in a line that featured bold shapes, elegant tailoring, classic patterns reminiscent of grandfathers, and vibrant splashes of color – all elements that are characteristic of Styles’ extravagant style.

This season, Stokey-Daley drew inspiration from Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell’s painting titled “Iona Croft,” a 1920s artwork depicting a charming cottage on the Scottish island of Iona. The coastal home scene was reflected in felted fisherman’s trench coats and accompanying bags. To a Taylor Swift admirer, the sailor-themed outfit appeared to reference her “Adore You” music video, which symbolically portrays love through the story of a fisherman (played by Styles) and a giant fish. To a fashion enthusiast, the unique hand-felted construction of these pieces marked significant progress in Stokey-Daley’s craftsmanship, possibly due to his high-profile financial backing.

In other settings, the Scottish Colourists’ brushwork vibrantly decorated a multitude of garments, ranging from oversized trench coats and voluminous gowns to petite T-shirts and figure-hugging skirts. Add Stoke-Daley’s ruffled shirts and ultra-wide trousers to the mix, and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that stylist Harry Lambert dressed Styles in a previous version of those lively fashion statements, as he also styled Stoke-Daley’s show on Friday.

The boldness of the line, resembling more the style of Jonathan Anderson than Alessandro Michele (who designed much of Styles’ previous stage attire at Gucci), also reflects the artist’s street style. Beyond his avant-garde performance persona, Styles is recognized for his casual yet appealing outfits, consisting of contrasting basic pieces and playful accessories. This is where the collection’s oversized nylon jackets, drawstring coats, and subdued cardigans share similarities with vibrant pom-pom beanies and pearly bags.

The similarity isn’t just a coincidence, it’s because Styles and Stokey-Daley had a shared vision for S.S. Daley at the time of his investment. They both looked forward to this new phase in their partnership as they aim for the brand’s long-term success and transforming it into a modern symbol of British heritage.

Essentially, Stokey-Daley’s home bears a striking resemblance to “Harry’s House,” and we can’t help but appreciate the similarity.
