Ryan Gosling Tells Fans to ‘Keep Hope Alive’ About Him as GHOST RIDER

With nearly 48 billion characters in Marvel’s comic book history, choosing the right actors for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge challenge for Kevin Feige. You can’t afford to cast a major award-winning actor in a small role that disappears after a quick post-credits scene! One popular fan casting choice is Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider – most likely the Danny Ketch version, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed. Gosling recently shared a quick update, telling fans to “Keep hope alive.”

Ryan Gosling recently discussed his potential role as Ghost Rider during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, as reported by Variety. When host Josh Horowitz asked about the possibility, Gosling said there had been some talks, but it’s a complex situation. He first publicly expressed his interest in playing the flame-headed, vengeance-seeking motorcyclist – known as the Spirit of Vengeance and connected to the character Mephisto – back in 2022. He added, “We’ll keep hope alive.”

The conversation happened while promoting Barbie, the film that earned Ryan Gosling his third Oscar nomination, where he played Ken. Someone asked Marvel producer Kevin Feige if he knew Gosling was interested in playing Ghost Rider, and Feige responded enthusiastically. He said that if Gosling wanted the role, he’d be amazing, and that he’d love to find a spot for him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige even pointed out that Gosling, while dressed as Ken and filming Barbie on Venice Beach, generated more media attention than some major movie releases that same weekend, highlighting his star power.

Even if Ryan Gosling doesn’t become Ghost Rider, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing to introduce a huge number of mutants – potentially trillions! This means that, one way or another, many actors, including Gosling, will likely appear in a Marvel movie at some point.
