Ruben Fleischer recently revealed plans for another Now You See Me film, and Lionsgate is already working on it.
The director told Variety that the studio started talking about making a fourth movie almost immediately after finishing the most recent one.
Fleischer explained that Lionsgate grew optimistic about the project after reviewing initial footage. He said they began discussing it once they’d seen enough of the raw footage to feel confident and decide to move ahead. Currently, they’re refining the script with the goal of starting production next year.
The interviewer also inquired about Mark Ruffalo’s cameo at the end of the movie. Director Fleischer would like Ruffalo to have a more significant part in the sequel, but his busy schedule makes it difficult. Fleischer explained that Ruffalo was only able to appear in the current film thanks to some additional filming done over the summer, as he’s a very in-demand actor.
You know, getting Mark Ruffalo into this project was trickier than we thought. He wasn’t around during the initial filming, and even when we scheduled extra shoot days, it didn’t line up. I actually managed to snag just one day with him while I was in New York, and we filmed his scenes in front of a green screen. That’s why he appears as a hologram – we really just worked with what we could get at the time!
So glad to be back! Check out the official trailer for #NowYouSeeMe: Now You Don’t, coming to theaters November 14, 2025.
