Recent rumors circulating on X (formerly Twitter) claiming Quentin Tarantino had died are false. Sources close to the filmmaker told Deadline that he is alive and well. The false reports, which originated from a viral post, falsely claimed Tarantino was killed in an Iranian missile attack on Israel and incorrectly cited Deadline as the source. Similar false reports also circulated about comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Representatives for both Tarantino and Seinfeld have confirmed they are safe, and there is no evidence to support these claims.
Alongside false text posts, fake AI-generated images have been circulating online, claiming to show Quentin Tarantino hiding in a bomb shelter in Israel. These images are fabricated, but they reference his well-known habit of splitting his time between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv since his marriage to Israeli singer Daniella Pick in 2018.
This increase in harmful content has sparked further demands for stronger rules on social media, as platforms like X continue to have difficulty stopping the spread of dangerous misinformation, especially during international conflicts.
Quentin Tarantino has been in the news recently, but not because of online gossip. He decided to cancel his long-planned film, The Movie Critic, earlier this year and is now focusing on other projects. He explained that while he loved the script, it felt too similar to work he’d already done. Currently, he’s developing a new play for London’s West End and is planning to live in London temporarily to direct its production.
Although Quentin Tarantino isn’t currently directing his tenth movie, his work is still coming to theaters and streaming services. A follow-up to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, called The Adventures of Cliff Booth, finished filming in January.
David Fincher directed the film, which was written by Tarantino, and Brad Pitt is returning as his Oscar-winning character. It’s planned for release on Netflix later this year. Tarantino has called the $200 million project innovative and unique, even though it features a character fans already know and love.
Jerry Seinfeld is doing well and actively touring with stand-up shows scheduled through the fall, debunking recent false rumors about his health. He’s also teaming up with Larry David again for an appearance in David’s new HBO sketch comedy series, which is highly anticipated. Reports confirming both men are safe have circulated, and the inaccurate posts have been flagged for removal.
