Sony PlayStation just announced PS5 price increases in the US via the PlayStation Blog.
The blog reads as follows:
In much the same way as numerous international companies, we’re facing a tough economic situation. Consequently, we regret to announce that starting from August 21, we will be raising the suggested retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States.
Here is an updated and revised price list for the PS5 consoles in the United States:
1. PS5 with Blu-ray Disc Drive – Previously $499, now $509
2. Digital Edition of PS5 – Previously $399, now $419
These new prices are our current recommendations for the best purchasing experience.
- PlayStation 5 – $549.99
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
- PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99
The price of PS5 accessories has not changed.
Following the rise in PS5 prices in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Sony’s hint at potential price increases in the United States, it appears that such an adjustment has now been implemented.
Enthusiasts anticipating purchasing either a PlayStation 5 or an upgraded version, the PS5 Pro, have just 24 hours left to grab one at a slightly discounted suggested retail cost.
