Every now and then, there’s a playful nod to the audience, reminding us all of the shared memories we’ve made together.

Instead of expressing worries about needing a few episodes for this revival to settle into its pace, Phineas and Ferb launches straight away, smoothly maintaining its previously set tone. Although Season 5 begins nine months after the end of Season 4, it’s set during the next summer break, making it seem as though the ten years between Season 4’s finale and Season 5’s premiere might not have occurred at all.

Kicking off a brand-new summer adventure signifies an array of novel ideas, tunes, and opportunities to explore innovation yet untouched in past summers. The show Phineas and Ferb thrives on such challenges, aiming to both welcome back loyal fans with more laughs than ever, while also creating a season for kids who may not have experienced the original series. Phineas and Ferb remain as cheerful and lively as ever, and characters like Isabella, Buford, and Baljeet continue to charm viewers. Candace remains unchanged, and though her decision at the end of Candace Against The Universe saw her forgo busting her brothers, her inherent drive to chase after them is so integral to the essence of the series that the revival wouldn’t be complete without it.

In his return to villainy, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz continues to shine, as he’s just as eager as ever to rule over the Tri-State Area with his outlandish plans. The creators of “Phineas and Ferb” don’t skimp on portraying him in a way that keeps him funny yet relatable. Notably, Major Monogram, Carl, and Perry the Platypus all make their comebacks. Each aspect of the storyline, be it Phineas, Ferb, and their friends’ inventions, Candace’s quest to expose them, or the rivalry between Perry and Doofenshmirtz, delivers a high-quality blend of storytelling and humor. As such, season five excels on every level. Rather than shying away from the gap between the end of season four and the start of season five, it embraces this prolonged separation, infusing fresh energy into the series.

The animated series Phineas and Ferb consistently leverages the flexibility of animation, enabling it to execute its creative ideas freely.
