Every Halloween, celebrities go all out with their costumes, and this year is no different! Paris Hilton recently shared photos of herself dressed as Catwoman, specifically recreating the iconic look Michelle Pfeiffer wore in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. It’s an incredibly accurate version of the costume designed by Mary Vogt for the 1992 film – so much so that, just like Pfeiffer, Hilton likely needed help getting into it! Check out the photos here:
Hilton recreated looks inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, sharing photos with the caption “Nine lives, zero regrets.” She even lip-synced Catwoman’s iconic line, “I am Catwoman. Hear me roar!” Many of her pictures feature her posing with a whip, in front of a pink neon sign reading “Hell Here.” This is a nod to a key moment in Batman Returns where Selina Kyle transforms into Catwoman after a confrontation with her boss, Max Shreck. In that scene, she angrily destroys her apartment, including a sign that originally said “Hello There” – a subtle change reflecting her new, powerful identity.
As a huge Batman fan, I’ve seen a lot of different actresses take on the role of Catwoman – it started with Julie Newmar back in the ’66 series, and then Lee Meriwether and the incredible Eartha Kitt each had a turn. We’ve had some fantastic versions more recently with Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, and Zoe Kravitz, and they’re all great! But for me, and I think for a lot of fans, Michelle Pfeiffer is Catwoman. It’s a shame Tim Burton’s idea for a spin-off movie focusing on her character never happened, but her portrayal is still the one everyone remembers and loves – it’s inspired so many amazing cosplays over the years! Meow.
