Partnering together, the Brooklyn-based outdoors retailer Outlandish and HOKA have launched an innovative project called Trailish. This collaboration aims to offer New York City’s thriving running community easy access to numerous running trails throughout the state.
Expanding on Outlandish’s trail-focused collaboration with Salomon called Hikeish, Trailish plans to organize monthly trail runs across the Hudson Valley and the wider Tri-State area. This will offer city runners used to running on pavement a chance to explore off-road trails. Notably, New York State has approximately 60% forest coverage in total. Benje Williams, a co-founder of Outlandish, remarks, “New York is the best city in the world, but access to nature is our vulnerability.” Hopefully, Trailish can help bridge this gap.
Trailish arranges guided transportation for visits to Outlandish’s store in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, with every trip being carefully planned and supervised by licensed guides, accompanied by drivers and pacers. Additionally, each journey includes an opportunity for participants to try out the latest HOKA trail running shoes, such as the Mafate Speed 4, so they don’t need to purchase new equipment to join in on the experience.
The inaugural Trailish run is set for March 9th at Rockefeller State Park. For further details and registration, visit the Trailish website.
