As a devoted moviegoer seeking heartwarming romances, it’s quite challenging to find a reliable author who consistently delivers such tales. Lucky for me, Karen Booth has become my go-to choice in this genre. Her books are pure joy to read, and they hit the spot perfectly when I need a fix of romance that leaves me feeling contented.
Before diving into “Not So Fast“, I was already thrilled. Yet, once I grasped the theme of the book, it swiftly climbed my To-Be-Read list. Fortunately, the thoughtful team at Harlequin, particularly Shannon, brought
In my opinion, if I were to describe this book in terms of an album, it would be akin to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet”. It perfectly strikes the balance between depth and lightness, offers delightful themes, and most importantly, provides a cause for optimism. Truly, that’s a quality we can all appreciate in both music and romance novels.
Previously, I expressed my gratitude towards Harlequin. They brought this book to my attention and generously sent me an advance copy, allowing me to read it ahead of time.
Not So Fast takes F1 romances to an entirely new level.
As a passionate movie buff, I found myself intrigued yet cautious about diving into “Not So Fast“. Given the prevalence of Formula One romances in today’s cinema landscape, it seemed almost predictable. However, with Karen Booth as the author, I had no cause for concern. The narrative centers around Mia, a die-hard F1 fan who crafts a podcast that unexpectedly explodes in popularity among its audience.
What makes Mia unique is her boldness in constructively criticizing drivers, particularly Xander, a rising star on the racing circuit. Unfortunately, Xander’s performance has been lackluster lately, and when asked about Mia, he offers a dismissive response. Consequently, Mia attended an F1 race, which was sponsored by Xander’s teammate.
Initially, it appears that Xander will disregard her, but they eventually engage in a conversation, albeit not extensively. Simultaneously, Mia’s fanbase expands rapidly, and her relationship with Xander—both friendship and budding romance—is progressing at an equally fast pace. Frankly, watching these two develop feelings for each other was nearly as captivating as the events unfolding on the track.
Given Mia’s enthusiasm for Formula One, the book is filled with thrilling F1-related incidents that greatly enhanced its appeal. Despite being on the shorter side, I won’t spoil too much, but it’s a well-crafted piece of literature. Regardless of whether you’re an F1 aficionado or not, this story has something captivating for everyone.
We can only wish for additional books by Karen Booth that are set within this captivating universe, perhaps focusing on distinct characters. Until that time arrives, this enchanting romance novel is ideal if you’re seeking a delightful read over the weekend or require a heartwarming escape after a tiring day.
Not So Fast by Karen Booth is out now where books are sold.
