As a long-time admirer of Nicki Minaj‘s unapologetic and fiery spirit, I find her recent Instagram Live session to be a testament to her strength and resilience. It’s clear that she’s been through some tough times, but she continues to stand her ground and defend herself, which is admirable.

Yesterday, October 16, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram Live for a scolding session without explicitly naming anyone. However, numerous individuals speculate that her criticism was directed towards her former partner, Safaree, and his ex-spouse, Erica Mena, based on the comments made during the live stream.

Lately, there’s been a heated exchange between Safaree and Erica on social media platforms. To be specific, Safaree recently shared a video showing Erica allegedly assaulting him, destroying furniture, while their kids were present. In response to the video, Erica expressed her upset on Instagram, claiming that Safaree had physically harmed her, which led to her outburst.

As I ponder over the timing of Nicki’s message, I can’t help but wonder if it was intended for Safaree and Erica. After all, it did seem quite strategic. And let’s not forget about 2022 when Erica openly expressed her dislike for my music, labeling it as “cartoony”. It’s a possibility that Nicki might have been serving some revenge right back at Erica in this case.

Nicki remarked, “I’m not sure who might find this encouraging, but good for you. Sometimes it’s best to let folks be on their own… And at times, when a queen is going about her affairs, someone unexpectedly joins the conversation and aspires to emulate the queen’s lifestyle.

“And stop f—–g lying,” she added. “Don’t go out your way and start harassing people who never said anything about you or to you … Be careful what you ask for. Be careful what you beg for. Be careful what you want to disrespect other people for having … I don’t know who needs to hear it, but good for you.”

From 2000 to 2014, Safaree and Nicki Minaj were romantically involved. Later, Safaree tied the knot with Erica in 2019, but they divorced in 2022. Their family includes a daughter named Safire and a son called Legend, who were born during their marriage.

So far, neither Safaree nor Erica have spoken out about Nicki Minaj’s latest video. Given Nicki’s past tendencies to respond strongly when she feels someone has crossed her, they might want to be ready for a potential heated reaction if they choose to comment.
