Street Fighter is a new action movie based on martial arts, directed by Kitao Sakurai and written by Dalan Musson.

I’m really excited because the new movie is scheduled to come out on October 16, 2026, and Paramount Pictures is releasing it! It’s a total reboot of the whole series, which is pretty cool, and it’ll actually be the third time they’ve made a live-action film based on this story.

The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Rounding out the impressive lineup are Roman Reigns, Jason Momoa, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Orville Peck, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Vidyut Jammwal, Eric André, and Andrew Schulz. Production began in August 2025.

Set in 1993, the movie follows Ryu and Ken, two former friends and fighters who are drawn back into the world of combat. They’re reunited when Chun-Li asks for their help in the upcoming World Warrior Tournament, a fierce competition filled with intense battles and high stakes.

According to Paramount Pictures, what appears to be a simple competition is actually a dangerous plot that makes the contestants confront both each other and their own troubled histories. If they fail, the stakes are ultimate – it’s all over.

Liang’s version of Chun-Li closely resembles her iconic appearance from the original Street Fighter 2, featuring her well-known hair and collar. Meanwhile, Centineo’s Ken looks more like his updated design from Street Fighter 5. Even these brief looks have gotten fans online talking excitedly.

We haven’t gotten the complete cast list yet, but based on the buzz around these little teasers, I’m predicting the first official photos are going to be *huge*. Seriously, people are already getting excited!
