Keanu Reeves and Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, are working together on a new action film called Shiver. Warner Bros. is reportedly finalizing a deal for the movie, which is being envisioned as a blend of the styles seen in Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.
Writer Ian Schorr crafted this story about a smuggler whose Caribbean job quickly turns into a terrifying ordeal.
Betrayed and left for dead, he finds himself in a desperate situation: surrounded by corpses, armed soldiers, and circling sharks. But things take a bizarre turn when he discovers he’s stuck in a time loop, endlessly repeating the same chaotic events until he can break free.
Keanu Reeves and director Miller are teaming up for a new film that combines elements of survival, action, and science fiction. The Hollywood Reporter says the movie is expected to be a fast-paced, exciting story, fitting with both of their reputations.
Beyond his work on Shiver, Keanu Reeves has several projects in the works. He’s appearing in Outcome, a dark comedy by Jonah Hill that will be available on Apple TV+, and he’s also joined the cast of Ruben Östlund’s upcoming satirical film, The Entertainment System Is Down. Plus, Reeves is producing a documentary about martial arts icon Benny Urquidez, which is slated for release in 2025.
Keanu Reeves’ comic book, BRZRKR, is becoming a live-action movie at Netflix, and he’s starring in and producing it. He’s also considering directing. Following the movie, Netflix plans to release an anime series, spanning two seasons and created by Production I.G., based on the same story.
While a fifth John Wick movie is still being discussed, director Chad Stahelski feels the series needs a pause before moving forward. In addition, a spin-off TV show called John Wick: Under the High Table is currently being developed, and Keanu Reeves is helping produce it.
Although the details of the Shiver project are still being worked out, it’s already looking like a really thrilling action movie, especially with Reeves and Miller involved.
