New Balance’s TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO SS25 Is Made for Movement

The hidden Japanese design team at New Balance, Tokyo Design Studio (TDS), has revealed the newest addition to their “Uni-ssentials by TDS” series – a versatile range of activewear that prioritizes comfort. This collection, according to the studio, is built on the concept of discarding traditional age and gender divisions, aiming instead for an unprecedented level of comfort for all, allowing fit and style to be determined by the wearer themselves.

The assortment for SS25 comprises a set of fundamental items in two primary colors – black and transparent yellow, with hints of neutral beige elements. A distinctive, translucent yellow fabric is used, subtly revealing the outline of the wearer through the synthetic material. For tops, you’ll find crewneck sweatshirts, polo shirts, t-shirts, tank tops adorned with minimalist logos and typographic designs. The outerwear focuses on a lightweight blouson featuring a double zip fastening, as well as vented panels. The collection further presents athletic joggers and shorts for the lower body, along with a selection of accessories such as socks and light caps.

On this coming Friday, March 13th, the Tokyo Design Studio’s New Balance Summer Season 2025 Uni-essentials line is set to debut in selected New Balance retail stores across Japan and on the New Balance Japan online platform.
