Netflix to Remake Stephen King’s Horror Story ‘Cujo’

Netflix has given the go-ahead for a fresh adaptation of the chilling thriller-horror tale ‘Cujo’, originally penned by Stephen King.

Back in 1981, I came across a gripping tale that was later transformed into the movie “Cujo.” This story follows a mother and her son who find themselves caught in a harrowing situation with their car, as they protect themselves from a once-friendly St. Bernard that has turned into a relentless beast on a bloodthirsty rampage. Faced with two dire options – battling the colossal rabid dog or risking heatstroke in the sweltering car, they must find a way to survive. In 1983, Stephen King’s masterpiece was brought to life on the big screen by director Lewis Teague, featuring Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh Kelly, and Danny Pintauro. The film earned an impressive $21 million USD at the box office against a budget of just $6 million USD. Stephen King is renowned for his chilling horror and sci-fi novels that have left an indelible mark on films and pop culture. His works, such as “Carrie,” “The Shining,” “Shawshank Redemption,” “Stand By Me,” “It,” and “It: Chapter Two,” continue to inspire countless other stories and creative endeavors.

A new novel by King, titled “The Running Man,” is currently being adapted by Edgar Wright. The upcoming film will feature Colman Domingo, Glen Powell, and Josh Brolin in its dystopian action-thriller storyline. Meanwhile, the heartwarming apocalyptic tale “Life of Chuck,” directed by Mike Flanagan and starring Tom Hiddleston and Chiwetel Ejiofor, has recently been acquired by Neon following its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

Information about the forthcoming movie adaptation of ‘Cujo’ is scant, however, it’s been confirmed that renowned producer Roy Lee will oversee its production.
