Netflix Drops First Trailer for Wednesday Season 2

On the horizon arrives Wednesday once again, and Netflix has unveiled a sneak peek of Season 2 for its eager followers. This anticipated teaser hints at an escalation of chills, deepening enigmas, and a gloomier version of Wednesday Addams than previously seen.

In November 2022, the initial season of Wednesday was a massive success upon its debut. The actress, Jenna Ortega, who portrayed the main character, received numerous accolades for her acting skills. In less than three weeks after its launch, it climbed to become Netflix’s second-highest watched English series. Furthermore, it secured two Golden Globe nominations and went on to win four Primetime Emmy Awards.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share the news that my favorite show is returning for a second season! This season will be divided into two parts, with Part One set to premiere on August 6, 2025, and Part Two following on September 3, 2025. The filming wrapped up in December 2024, following the initial production that began earlier in the year in Ireland. Can’t wait to dive back into this captivating world!

Jenna Ortega is coming back as Wednesday, and this season she’s not just acting but also serving as an executive producer. In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Ortega revealed that Season 2 will emphasize the horror elements and distance itself from romance. According to her, Wednesday will be dropping any romantic interests in this upcoming season.

According to the show’s makers, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the upcoming episodes will delve deeper into the connection between Wednesday and Enid, as well as further examine Wednesday’s intricate bond with her mother, Morticia.

In a continuation of familiar faces, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Christina Ricci, and Fred Armisen will reprise their roles. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there! Fresh talent is joining the mix as well. Steve Buscemi takes on the role of the new principal at Nevermore Academy. Additionally, Thandiwe Newton, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, and Lady Gaga have also joined the cast, though details about their roles remain undisclosed for now.

It was mentioned last year that Ortega might not be in Scream 7 due to her Wednesday schedule, but later on, she clarified to the media that this wasn’t accurate. What actually happened was that she chose to step away from that film after some important members of its production team had already left.

If you’re drawn by the spooky atmosphere, the intriguing enigmas, or simply the witty humor of Wednesday, it seems like Season 2 is going to be more extensive, more ominous, and a tad more eccentric than before. From the looks of the trailer, fans are set for an exhilarating ride.
