The thrilling Gamescom Opening Night Live event is currently in full swing, and one of the most captivating revelations thus far involves a joint venture: Monster Hunter World and Final Fantasy XIV are teaming up for a crossover event! This means both games will receive fresh updates with elements inspired by each other’s universes.
Initially, let’s focus on an exciting development: Chocobos are coming to Monster Hunter Wilds, and Seikrets to Final Fantasy XIV! This means you can collect even more charming creatures for your collection. Although the arrival of these adorable creatures is undeniably noteworthy, there are also other updates to look forward to. In Monster Hunter Wilds, a new title monster named Omega Planetes will be introduced, while in Final Fantasy XIV, the Arkveld will serve as a raid boss.
Get ready for the realms to intertwine in the special collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, set to arrive in the Forbidden Lands at the end of September 2025 as part of the free title update 3. An Omega-level danger is on its way…#MHWilds ❤️ @FF_XIV_EN

Previously, Monster Hunter World and Final Fantasy XIV have intersected on occasion. In 2018, Monster Hunter World was integrated into FF14, providing players with the Rathalos mount. However, in that instance, Monster Hunter did not reciprocate, as instead, it received a monster from The Witcher 3 game.
In simple terms, the update for Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to come out towards the end of September, and the update for Final Fantasy 14 is set for early October. So, not too far off now, you’ll have access to a wealth of fresh content!
