Season Two Premiere Details
The first episode of the new season will be available on Apple TV on February 27th, with new episodes released every Friday until May 1st. The 10-episode season continues the story with the fate of both Monarch and the planet at stake.
The first season centered on two siblings investigating their family’s link to Monarch, which led them to a former Army officer named Lee Shaw, shown in both the past and present. The second season continues this story, taking the characters back to Kong’s Skull Island and introducing a new village connected to a newly emerging Titan from the ocean.
What the New Season Covers
This season delves into the history of Monarch and how their past actions are impacting current events. Characters who were once friends or foes reconnect, and long-hidden truths are revealed. A catastrophic event involving a massive Titan feels imminent, and the season will further connect to the wider Monsterverse, with Godzilla playing a crucial role in the unfolding drama.

Creative Team and Monsterverse Connections
Season two is produced by Legendary Television, with Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Chris Black, Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Lawrence Trilling, and Andrew Colville overseeing the project. Chris Black is the showrunner, and Toho, the company behind Godzilla, is also participating through Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita.
Apple TV has a deal with Legendary that will bring more seasons of the show Monarch, as well as several new spin-off series based on the Monsterverse, to the platform.
The Monsterverse Background
The Monsterverse film series began with Godzilla in 2014 and has grown to include films like Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the recent blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. A new installment, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, is scheduled for release in 2027. The franchise has become a huge success, earning over $2.5 billion globally and expanding into video games, comics, merchandise, and live experiences.
