Mindy Project Star Ike Barinholtz Jokes His Kids Won’t Find Him ‘Cool’ Until He Features on a Dua Lipa Song

As a dedicated follower of Ike Barinholtz‘s career and personal life, I must say that his journey is nothing short of inspiring. From his hilarious roles in movies and sitcoms to his recent million-dollar win on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire for charity, Ike has proven time and again that he is a versatile entertainer with a golden heart.

For years now, I’ve proudly stood as a comedian, known for my knack for humor in everything from movies to TV shows. Yet, there remains one area where I feel I’m lagging – the cool factor. Recently, I’ve come to realize that the key to bridging this gap lies in joining forces with none other than Dua Lipa. I believe that starring in her next music video is just what I need to level up my cool quotient, especially among my kids!

Ike Barinholtz, a comedian known for his offbeat humor from The Mindy Project, teamed up with his father, Alan Barinholtz, on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire this week. They jointly won the show’s $1 million grand prize for charity.

Before the show’s premiere, Barinholtz is candidly discussing his parental struggles. He disclosed an interesting fact: even if he were to win a million dollars, it wouldn’t necessarily earn him respect or approval from his kids.

The leading figure at Superstore, who is the proud father of Foster (age 10), Payton (age 7), and his youngest daughter (age 5) with wife Erica Hanson, expressed, “My children consider me cool only when I appear on a Dua Lipa song.”

In another phrase, Ike maintained, “I guess I’m not the cool type,” adding, “That’s something I have to accept. It’s my burden to carry.” Fortunately for Ike, despite his perception of himself as an uncool father, his dad, Alan, firmly believes that Ike is a very cool son without a doubt.

As a die-hard fan, let me tell you, Ike and my boy Johnny (Alan Barinholtz) are undeniably the epitome of coolness. To me, they’re not just fathers; they’re the coolest dads out there!

In a special moment, Ike and his spouse introduced their third little girl at the premiere of his movie “Blockers” in Los Angeles. They gleefully displayed Ike’s hospital wristband, which was still on him from the delivery room. For now, the baby girl’s name remains a secret to the public, but Ike proudly admits that even though he may not be considered “cool,” he is indeed a proud father.

Dezi, the son of Jon Barinholtz and his wife Annika, is deaf. Ike and Alan have won a million dollars to create an American Sign Language (ASL) program at their school. According to Ike, this initiative will serve as a guiding light for children in the area who are hearing-impaired or deaf, and it could also inspire other schools to develop similar programs.

As a seasoned lottery player with years of unsuccessful attempts, I can confidently say that Ike and Alan are truly deserving winners of this USD 1 million jackpot. Their victory brought not only financial relief but also a sense of joy and fulfillment that only comes from achieving a long-held dream. Moreover, their quick wit and humor during the event made it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved, adding another layer to their well-deserved triumph. I can’t help but feel a bit envious, but I am genuinely happy for them and their chosen charity. Their success serves as an inspiration that even the odds, sometimes seemingly insurmountable, can be conquered with perseverance and a little luck.
