  • The renovation preserves mid-century elements while introducing modern refinements, emphasizing spatial flow and natural connectivity

Situated amidst the beautiful hills of Laurel Canyon, the CM G1 House has undergone a remarkable makeover orchestrated by Ome Dezin, featuring exclusive furniture by Willett. Initially constructed in the 60s, this spacious 2,920-square-foot dwelling has been redesigned to improve its internal flow and connection with nature. The renovation maintains its mid-century character, yet infuses modern enhancements that accentuate natural materials, intriguing shapes, and effortless indoor-outdoor transitions.

Inside, Douglas fir paneling echoes the style of mid-century design. This is paired with black flagstone flooring that stretches from the entrance, continuing through the kitchen, dining room, and study – unifying the visual theme. Willett’s furniture plays a significant part in defining the home’s ambiance. Pieces like the Radi Table, Gio Stool, and Popo Chair lend a striking yet harmonious vibe to the house. Custom-made details, such as a slatted front door, study desk, and integrated storage system in the master bedroom, underscore the home’s refined appearance.

As a dedicated fan, I’d share that the renovation isn’t just about cosmetic changes; it includes clever architectural adjustments too! For instance, the fireplace in one corner has been tastefully restored, becoming a captivating centerpiece in our living space. Skylights have been installed to let in sunlight, while dark marble countertops and backsplashes add a bold contrast to the abundant woodwork, truly making it a sight to behold!

The design team sought to create a holistic environment where every detail, from layout to furnishings, reflects a singular, elevated vision. The collaboration between Ome Dezin and Willett results in a residence that feels intentional, fresh and serene, offering a modern interpretation of mid-century design while remaining deeply connected to its historical roots.
