Megan Thee Stallion Takes Broadway by Storm with Gender-Bending ‘Moulin Rouge’ Role

Megan Thee Stallion, the Grammy-winning artist and actress, is joining the Broadway cast of Moulin Rouge! this spring. She’ll be taking on the role of Zidler, the flamboyant owner of the nightclub, for eight weeks, from March 24th to May 17th.

The show’s soundtrack will be packed with pop music and will also include some of Megan’s own popular songs, like “Savage” and “HISS.” She’s taking over the role from Bob the Drag Queen, and this is the first time someone who identifies as female will play Zidler – a part originally made famous by Tony Award winner Danny Burstein.

I’m really excited to see Megan Thee Stallion hit the Broadway stage! Though it’s her first time there, she’s definitely not new to acting. I remember enjoying her in the quirky film Dicks: The Musical, and she was fantastic in both STARZ’s P-Valley and Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. She’s proven she can really act, so I’m expecting great things!
