Matt Smith Rumored For Brainiac In ‘Man of Tomorrow’

The upcoming Man of Tomorrow movie’s search for an actor to play Brainiac seems to be narrowing down, with recent reports suggesting Matt Smith is now the leading candidate for the role.

According to insider Daniel RPK, reports from Nexus Point News that a number of actors were being considered appear to be accurate.

As previously reported by Nexus Point News, Claes Bang, Matt Smith, and Sam Rockwell were all potential candidates for the part.

There were reports that Bang was auditioning for the role, but recent information suggests Will Smith is now the frontrunner.

What the New Rumor Says

According to Daniel RPK, Matt Smith is now the leading candidate to play Brainiac in the upcoming movie. Warner Bros. and DC Studios are still finalizing the cast before filming begins this spring.

Although a deal isn’t finalized, the fact that Smith is the leading candidate indicates the studio has a preferred vision for how the villain will be portrayed.

Why Matt Smith Fits the Role

As a film fan, I’ve really been noticing Matt Smith lately – he’s become a master of playing these huge, unforgettable characters. Whether it was his quirky, sometimes scary, and always surprising work on shows like Doctor Who and House of the Dragon, he totally transforms himself. And apparently, there was even talk he was going to play a younger Palpatine – maybe even a clone – in Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker, which would have been incredible!

A Brainiac played with cold, alien intelligence would fall comfortably within that wheelhouse.

Fans are already captivated by his striking looks, lean build, and the way he can quickly switch between being charming and intensely unsettling.
